I use the Canon Rebel T5i to film all of my sit down YouTube videos. I always use “M” or manual settings to get the brightness, blur in the background and color grade that I want.
This lens makes all the difference to the quality of my videos! I can get a wide angle to take full outfit photos and a tight zoomed in shot for all my makeup tutorials on YouTube!
I use this ring light to brighten all my videos and photos! I place it in the center between my two side lights.
I place these 2 lights on either side of my ring light when filming my YouTube and TikTok videos for optimal lighting.
CANON G7X MARKII
I use the Canon G7X MarkII to take to events as the size is small enough to fit into most of my evening clutches and purses. This camera is more expensive but totally worth it if you want to start your own channel. I would recommend getting this camera and a large memory card if you are a blogger, travel vlogger or new to camera settings, vlogging and you travel or want something compact.
The Canon M100 is a compact, user friendly, DSLR quality camera in my opinion. I love taking it to all my trips when I vlog. I use this camera body for most of my Instagram photos with the M100-22mm lens to get that blurry background. It’s definitely a more affordable option than taking the plunge for a Canon G7x MII which most vloggers have. This particular model is a bit bulkier and not as easy to carry around in a small purse as it has an external lens sticking out. However, the image and video quality is noteworthy!
The Olympus Pen EPL8 was the very first camera I bought with my own money to “upgrade” my YouTube and Instagram. It is a compact, user friendly, blogger friendly camera that helps content creators shoot beautiful images at every touch.
The Manfrotto compact tripod is incredible to take on the go to any photo shoot location if you are alone to sitting down filming a YouTube video. The tripod extends from 17.3" to 61"! I have been able to film over the nail videos, flatlays, outfit shots, sit down videos and family reunion photos with this tripod. It is a must have in my kit.
The Manfrotto Pixi is perfect for the travel or daily vlogger. I use this to help stabilize my camera when I hold the camera toward my face. It also gives me a bit more length from my arm to show a wider angle shot. This tripod is not very versatile as it is just 3 legs and stands on gripped feet but you can make it taller or shorter depending on the weight of your camera.
For all voiceovers and sit down videos, I use this Blue Snowball Mic that plugs into my laptop and use Garageband from Apple to record in the “Narration” voice style. The sound comes out so clear and there’s no fuss with a lapel mic in my clothing or the mic peaking through my clothes.
Although this item is not a piece of tech, I use this every time I film a YouTube video. It is perfectly compact and mobile enough to move around and place my laptop in front of me while I record the sound with my snowball mic on the table. If I need a spot to place a mirror or put makeup in front of me, the table is the perfect height for me. There are three adjustable heights for this table.
